ASUS' Transformer Prime TF700T: Improves Wireless, Adds 1920 x 1200 Panel, Available in Q2

ASUS just announced an updated version of the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the TF700T. The new tablet keeps the same form factor, dimensions, screen size and weight of the original TF Prime. It also includes the same Tegra 3 SoC running at 1.3GHz, but it now adds a 1920 x 1200 panel. In addition to the new panel is an upgraded 2MP front facing camera and finally a new back panel for improved wireless performance. Battery capacity and the rest of the specs remain identical to the TF201.
ASUS expects the TF700T to be available in North America sometime in late Q2 (I'd assume May/June), with MSRPs between $599 - $699. The original Prime will still be available in the market, the TF700T will simply be a higher end model.

I just recently received my tf201 but returned it because it appears that Asus will not be adding the plastic strip to the back of the TF201 like the TF700T. I would hate to spend an additional 100 for better reception but may need to.r3loaded - Monday, January 9, 2012 - link
As Zingam said, get your eyes checked (especially if you're over 40). My dad was complaining that he couldn't tell the difference between HD and SD content until he got himself a new pair of glasses. He's now happy that his eyes too are "HD ready"!Zingam - Monday, January 9, 2012 - link
...then Transformer Premium Platinum for just $99999!!!They don't get it. Tablets are disposable devices they have to be cheap!!! $699 - no way! How about 3G/LTE etc. Does it support GPS, Skype, etc?

$699 would be not too bad, IF those things weren't disposable (in the sense that they get obsoleted by the next generation a few months later).If I count right this is the third iteration of the Transformer in less than a year.

If I order it now, will I get it by x-mas? ;-)Asus seriously needs to get their supply problem fixed and release these early to beta testers to find any problems before the actual release instead of giving folks like Anand one week to test it before release :-O
I also agree $600 is too expensive. Release it at $500 and drop all the other prices by $100. Damned disposable things. If it ran Windows 8 as well, it'd be worth $600...at least Windows stuff doesn't seem to get obsoleted this quickly :-P

Okay so soon I'll be able to get a 10" display on a tablet with 1920x1200 but the traditional displays most people do actual work on are still stuck at 30" and 2560x1600?!Seriously? Pull the finger out and start producing some 24"-30" 4k displays that aren't +100k SEK a pop.
If the technology is there to put it on 10" tabletdisplays what could possibly be stopping them from making desktop displays more high resolution?

I'm happy to see that they are going with the wider 16:10 ratio instead or a more narrow 1920x1080. It's not quite the ideal 4:3 format which really is easier to hold in portrait mode but it is closer.
