So there is no picture of an actual new phone? Nokia was the king and now.... We need a sexy phone which is not too small or big and we can take it anywhere, and powerful enough to replace a tablet.
- Rubber - Paper board - Telegraph cables - Phone cables - Electrical cables - Television sets - personal computers - monitors - capacitors - military communication gear - gas masks - robots - beer - phones
New Nokia does: + Equipment and services for mobile operators (base station equipment, infrastructure, etc) + Here Maps + R&D and patents licensing + Brand licensing (Nokia N1 is designed, manufactured, and sold by Lenovo)
I see a lot of "ignorance" right now about Nokia. So here are a few factoids:
- Nokia sold its mobile handset business to Microsoft in 2013 - Nokia was already in dire straits when Elop came on board, although he certainly came on board just to sell it to MS - Nokia sold its *brands* - Asha, Lumia & Nokia to Microsoft (but only for the handsets) - Nokia launched the N1 Tablet, only its availability, for some reason, is limited to China - The N1 is basically a nice looking version of many, many iPad clones out there - The "new" Nokia is just part of Nokia Networks - Nokia has a non-compete with Microsoft, it won't be able to manufacture phones of any sort under the Nokia brand until the end of 2015. - The "new" Nokia is actually called "Nokia Technologies", it is mostly an R&D company - Old Lumias = Nokia - Newer Lumias = Microsoft - Latest phones from Microsoft no longer carry the Nokia Lumia
In all the honesty, N1 does look more similar to iPad Air than your average Samsung, Sony, Asus... Just to make it clear, I don't think Apple (or any other company) should have rights to basic shapes and materials... so I am happy that N1 does look as it does, because I prefer this design to Samsung's, and if I were on market for Android tablet, N1 would top my list.

Interesting that they mentioned graphene soon after those job listings hinted that they are working on a graphene image sensor.Vinny DePaul - Sunday, March 1, 2015 - link

They do sell feature phones though. I'm guessing they are not allowed to sell Windows/Android phones.shadowjk - Monday, March 2, 2015 - link

@shadowjk, couple of corrections on the N1.Lenovo isn't the manufacturing partner. Foxconn is.
As for the design (N1 hardware and Z Launcher software) that was done by us here at Nokia. I should know, I worked on it.

The timing isn't correct. I don't have the official no ber, but it's closer to two years from the time the sales closed.backbydemand - Monday, March 2, 2015 - link
