July FAQ Update

It has been a while since the last FAQ update, so we'll roll a few more articles into this one. Once again, I would like to stress that there are many more FAQs located in each individual category; the recent page only shows but a few of the nearly 130 FAQs we have.

Electrode continues his "Defenestration Made Easy" Project with another three FAQs.

His first FAQ describes how to share files and folders between Linux and Windows. With SAMBA, it covers how to access shared folders from within Linux, and how to share directories so that Windows can access them. Sharing files between Windows and Linux: Samba will tell you how to quickly get your shares up and running.

His third FAQ, Can I run Windows software on UNIX?, gives background on WINE, where to get it, how to install it and how to use it. It follows the style of his previous articles outlining each simple step in order to get you up and running as quickly as possible.

Long time FAQ supporter n0cmonkey writes an OpenBSD Ports FAQ. It covers what are OpenBSD ports, where to get more information regarding the topic, adding, downloading, and removing ports.

Finally, the Intel Processor Packages FAQ describes most of the recent form factors that Intel's processors come in. With the multitude of Slot and Socket processors, the different types can be confusing, so they are described here.
